We have existed since 2008 (born at 384ppm) and since then, our mission is to change the rules of the outdoor game. All companies are in this situation: they have an impact on the planet. They pollute, and so do we. But this isn’t the end of the story. In fact, that is the starting point of our sustainibility roadmap. So what are we doing ? What is the role of companies in the transition? How are they useful in meeting the needs of a fairer, more sober economy and society that produces and consumes less? For some, what is their capacity to replace more polluting options? Do they get involved in changing the laws, too? What are they doing to fight climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity? At Picture, our main motivation as a committed textile brand is to make the textile industry less polluting, more sustainable and more sober. There are multiple points of improvement, but 3 themes clearly stand out: • Offer less, consume less, make clothes last and repair them • Getting out of dependence on coal and gas for the production of electricity to power spinning, weaving and dyeing machines • Getting out of oil for materialsJoin us in this adventure! Getting involved on these points leads to multiple additional benefits of reducing: greenhouse gas emissions, air, soil and water pollution, pressure on workers, pressure on ecosystems, etc. This is where our B Corp certification has meaning: using business and our influence as a force for good. But let’s not beat about the bush, the transformation of the textile sector must be organized, planned, and politicized. It is not just a matter of «committed brands». The progression of committed brands is not much use if at the same time unscrupulous brands are also progressing in their traditional model. It’s a piling up, not a transition. This is why we need more laws and regulations to put everyone on the same footing, without unfair competition, Penalize the worst practices, encourage the virtuous ones. First, ask the right questions: Sustainable materialsUsing business as a force for goodClimate and Low Carbon strategyFair and ethical productionPackaging policy to eliminate polybagsLONG STORY SHORT : HERE IS OUR COMMITMENT IN 5 POINTSCommitted brand and business We change the rulesof the outdoor game
